Sinkrophonium

The Sinkrophonium is a “brass” instrument created from a kitchen sink and hardware. To build it, I researched construction techniques for wind and brass instruments such as the euphonium. The Sinkrophonium is played by blowing into the mouthpiece to send air through a series of copper tubes into the sink itself, which acts as the resonating bell. Tone is achieved by modifying lip tension and position (like a trumpet) and opening and closing the four valves, which sends air to the three subsidiary bells.
